And I had to put it somewhere…. so here it is.
Our baby and our bigger baby.
At the time of this photo I truly believed that this nappy driven… sleep deprived, crazy life we were living was going to last forever and a day and to be honest I was a bit nervous about that.
The truth is it really did pass so quickly. Too fast. People told me it would but I didn’t believe them!
Poppy turns 10 this year and Zali is 13 in just a few days. (she has her own blog over here) They are amazing people who I am totally inspired by but boy would I rather like to hold these two tiny people again!!
Pink is in.
Our blog just had a lovely make-over!! Special thanks to Hannah Titmarsh!
We are changing a few things around here because You Can’t be Serious! is evolving with us. We want to keep doing what we love and sharing it here and we hope you enjoy the journey too!
For now here is Poppy who recently dyed her hair pink. It has released her inner rock star!!
A couple of links I have loved this month!!
Ruby Who? – the book.
This project has been a long, long… long time coming. I am really proud I didn’t give up on this idea.
Sometime in 2008 I started working on a book called Ruby Who? After realizing I couldn’t draw and that I had more skills in making films, I decided to make a short film.
I was compelled to make a story that would explain to my girls how wishing for what others have makes you feel heavy and takes away your joy.
With the help of a very clever friend, Natala Stuetz we made a short film called Ruby Who? It won a few awards and did really well! In fact it still does well!!
I have always dreamt of finding a wonderful illustrator and creating the story as a book as well. Then on a shoot last year I met the wonderful Alarna Zinn. As soon as I chatted to Alarna about the book I knew she would be perfect. Her illustrations are gorgeous and she is an amazing woman who I admire very much!
Alarna has helped us create a kids book I am so very proud of! Please check out her work here.
While I might have passion and love to tell stories I seriously can’t rhyme to save myself. So to Andrew who made the words work… Who actually helps me make so many of my words work thankYOU.
Here is our promo video to announce and help spread the word about our little self published baby. If you like the look of the book or know someone who would, please help us spread the word and share this video or the website. RUBY WHO?
you can buy the book HERE! www.rubywho.com
L.A art.
I feel like our recent trip to the U.S was a delightful dream! Lucky I have photos to prove I actually got to experience that wonderful trip!
We will be posting some images from the NY part of our trip soon but I wanted to remind all the lovely peeps out there that the 365grateful competition is very nearly OVER!! You have 2 short days to get your entries in!! Click here to find out more!
I am grateful for many things right now but today I want to share this grateful…
While on my trip one of the things that totally delighted me about L.A was all the very cool street art. If you follow Andrew and I on Instagram you probably saw that I was slightly obsessed. (IG names are – haileybe & surfistatomato)
So I took a few photos of the art we saw…
I feel so very grateful to these artists for taking the time to share their art for free all over the streets. How cool is that! Everywhere we traveled I was constantly saying… OOH stop… stop.. I have to get a photo of this one too! This artwork made me so happy. So many beautiful messages or amazing talent shared on the streets!
So I leave you today with my grateful…. Street art in L.A and the lovely artists who made each of these… THANK YOU for sharing happiness!!
So what are you grateful for? Want to email it to us? Find out here.
NYC in B&W
hello!
We have returned from a couple weeks travel/work and are so excited to hopefully share some images from the trip very soon. However in the meantime I have some of the many B&W instant photos I took while in NYC. We had the most magical time. I am so soooo lucky to get to go to so many amazing places for work!
1. MET – Andrew with his favourite paintings.
2. Girls in Central park underpass
3. Imagine – John Lennon memorial
4. Guggenheim
For all the photographer’s who want to know what these shots were taken on, it is the Polaroid Land Camera 230. I have loaded B&W Fuji film SB 3000B. It works a TREAT! LOVE this camera and love nearly everything that came out of it.
Here is me in Times square taking a few pics with it. Andrew took these!
